Mix & Match Stays is a flexible multi-hotel booking platform designed around how travellers actually move. Instead of staying in the same hotel every night, you can choose a different hotel for each night of your trip — all brought together in one booking journey.
Why book different hotels on different nights?
Trips rarely stay in one place. One night you might want to be near a venue, another near a neighbourhood you came to explore, another close to where you start the next day. Mixing hotels lets your accommodation follow your plans rather than forcing your plans around your hotel — so you spend more time experiencing each part of your trip and less time travelling back and forth. Better rates on some nights can also be a welcome bonus.
What is the basket?
The basket collects the hotels you've chosen across your trip. Once you search, results for every stop come back on one page, split into a tab per stop, so you go through each one, pick a hotel, and add it to your basket. Each choice becomes its own line, showing the hotel, dates, room type, cancellation details, and price, ready for checkout.
What does mixing and matching mean?
It means you can plan a trip across multiple locations, or stops, in one basket. Set your first check-in and last check-out date for the whole trip, add each stop with however many nights you want there, and search once. Results come back for every stop at the same time — for example two nights in London, two in Edinburgh, and one in Manchester — all in one basket, without managing a separate booking journey for each city.
Can I still book one hotel for the full stay?
Yes. Use Single Hotel mode when you want one property for the entire trip. Mix & Match mode is there when your plans call for more flexibility.
Do I pay once for the whole trip?
Yes. Once your basket is complete, you review every hotel together and pay once at checkout, however many cities the trip spans. You'll get confirmation for every hotel in the basket.
Can I change or cancel one hotel without affecting the rest of my trip?
Each hotel in your basket is its own individual booking, so you can change or cancel one leg without disturbing the others, provided that hotel's rate allows it. Refundable and non-refundable rates are shown for each hotel before you pay, so you know your flexibility upfront.
What if a hotel becomes unavailable while I'm paying?
This is rare, and usually only happens if payment is left unattended or takes too long to complete. If it does happen, we automatically suggest up to 3 alternative hotels for that stop, showing you the price difference for each, so you can accept an alternative or remove that stop from your trip.
What is the Trip Planner?
The Trip Planner is an AI-powered itinerary builder that creates a suggested day-by-day plan for your trip, including activities, neighbourhood ideas, restaurants, and areas that may suit each night of your stay.
How do I use it?
Choose your destination city. Select your trip length. Pick your travel style, such as culture, food, family, nightlife, shopping, romance, or relaxation. Tell us who you are travelling with. Choose a budget level and generate your itinerary.
What cities are supported?
The planner supports major destinations across the UK, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. You can also type in a city that is not on the suggested list.
Can I share my plan?
Yes. After your itinerary is generated, use the Share option to copy a link for travel companions, friends, or family.
Does the planner book hotels?
No. The planner helps you shape the trip. To book hotels, continue through the normal hotel search and checkout flow.
